
About Us
Doranda College, Ranchi, was established in 1962 by a local philanthropist with
the vision of providing holistic education to equip graduates for an increasingly diverse and evolving world. In April 1977, the college became a constituent unit of Ranchi University. Since then, it has remained dedicated to fostering a distinctive academic environment that supports major faculties in Arts, Commerce, Science, and Vocational Courses, while also strengthening the relationship between higher education and society.
Doranda College is one of the ten NAAC-accredited constituent colleges under Ranchi University. In alignment with NAAC’s vision and mission, the college was
re-accredited in its second cycle (Grade B+) by the NAAC Peer Team on 5th
November 2016.
Recognized as a premier institution in Jharkhand, Doranda College has, since 2016,placed utmost importance on integrating academic excellence with professional learning. Its key strength lies in the continual pursuit of high standards in knowledge dissemination within a dynamic and interactive environment. This
approach empowers students to achieve distinction and honor in their chosen fields.
The college adopts a well-planned strategy in implementing new projects and ensures open access to emerging technologies. It offers a wide range of vocational courses such as BBA, BCA, IT, MBA, MCA, B.Ed., and Amanat Survey, all
designed to prepare students for the demands of technological advancement.

RTI Committee
As a public institution, Doranda College complies with the Right to Information (RTI) Act, 2005, ensuring transparency and accountability in its administrative and academic processes. The RTI Committee is constituted to facilitate the smooth implementation of the Act, handle public queries, and ensure timely responses in accordance with the provisions of the Act.
Objectives of the RTI Committee:
- To promote transparency and accountability in the functioning of the college.
- To provide information to citizens requesting access under the RTI Act.
- To process and respond to RTI applications efficiently and within the prescribed timeframe.
- To educate staff and stakeholders about the RTI Act and its implementation.
